Our Rabbi
Rabbi Zvi Solomons is not your typical yeshiva-trained orthodox Rabbi. With a degree in archaeology from Cambridge, a masters in Land Management from Reading, and a Rabbinic Diploma (Semicha) from Jews’ College London, he has been active in the rabbinate for some 25 years. He has served in Norwich, Potters Bar, and Liverpool before coming to Reading in 2008.
Rabbi Zvi has been an active columnist in the Jewish Telegraph and the Jewish News, has broadcast many times on Jewish subjects on the BBC and other stations, and is a very popular speaker on religious education in schools all over the country, where he provides content for the Jewish component of the RE syllabus. When he is not teaching or Rabbi-ing he indulges his passion for philanthropy, fountain pens, the garden, English stately homes, books, and single malt whisky. |
