Booking your visit

Contact Us
We offer a variety of options and can tailor our workshops to fit your constraints of schedule and budgeting.

If you have any questions, please ring Rebbetzin Shira on 07931747316 or email re@JCoB.org

If you are ready to book a visit, then please fill out our visit details form to let us know what sort of visit you want.

Please note that all winter 2021 visits will be conducted remotely.
We provide truly interactive high quality workshops over zoom.

From summer 2021 we will again perform visits in person to schools within a 90 minute drive of Reading,  but strict Covid-19 safety protocols will be required.  We can discuss which option is most appropriate for you.

We can also send you materials to use on site, such as seder plates and shabbat (LED) candlesticks, so that the workshops can still be properly hands-on even over zoom.

Current Rates (updated January 2021)

The following rates apply to visits for 2021-22 confirmed by the end of July 2021.   In person visits may also involve a travel***** surcharge.

Costs below do not include any optional extra items such as challah or seder plates.

Virtual Visit Rates*
  • Virtual 30 minute assembly
    £53 (11:30am, 1pm or 2:30pm) / £63 (9am)
    / £27 (join in)**
  • Virtual 45-50 minute visit
    £62 (1pm, 2:10pm or 11:10am)
    / £72 (9am)
  • Virtual 1 hour visit
    £68 (off peak: usually 11am) / £78
     (peak: 9am)
  • Virtual 2 hour visit (1pm - 3pm or 10am - 12pm) - £113
  • Virtual Full morning (up to 3 hours) - £170
  • Virtual Standard School day (9:00 – 15:00) - £270
  • Pre-recorded short visit
same as a peak (9am) short visit of the same length

Some short visit slots are discounted if you can fill a gap in the diary.  Please contact us for an updated list of these coordination slots.

Visits starting before 10am include a £10 peak surcharge and are costed from 9am.  This is to encourage schools to use the latter part of the morning when possible.

For slightly longer visits (such as a morning visit for 3.5 hours), additional time is costed at £40/hr or at £54/hr depending on the effect on scheduling.   Please note that visits of unusual length are not always possible.

In Person Visit Rates (From Summer 2021)
  • Afternoon (up to 2 hours) -
    £124 (standard)  / £108 (coordination***)
  • Full morning (up to 3 hours) -
    £182 (standard) / £166 (coordination)
  • Standard School day (9:00 – 15:00) - £280
  • Assembly**** (30 minutes) £96 / £50 (coordination)
  • 1 hour visit**** - £120 / £59 (coordination)

Additional charges apply for visits that involve a long journey and for extra materials such as food for workshops.

Note about full day visits:
Please note that an in-person visit that extends from the morning into the afternoon will usually be costed as a full day visit even if the school is unable to use all the time available.

Assuming a half hour lunch break, a whole day visit allows a school to have half an hour more workshop time than a separate morning and afternoon, but for a cost that is £10 - £26 less, not accounting for savings on travel.  Particularly for schools at a distance, this is the most cost-efficient option aside from virtual visits.  We offer full days at a discount because they are easier to organise than separate mornings and afternoons at different locations.
*Virtual Short Visits (assemblies and 1 hour slots)

We are happy to do short visits (30, 50 or 60 minutes) and we have organised our virtual visit rates to make these visits affordable as the virtual setup makes it much easier for us to visit multiple schools in the same day.

A single 50 minute slot can be used for three classes simultaneously, whereas previously a whole morning would have been needed to work with each class individually.  We can send sufficient reasonably priced props for you to have these in place in each classroom individually.

Short virtual visits will normally take place at the beginning or end of a morning or afternoon.  Other times are of course possible, but the cost may then vary depending on the effect on scheduling.  For example, a 50 minute visit at 11am or an assembly at 9:30am will both be costed as 1 hour visits.

1 hour visits are more economical at the end of a morning (11am - 12pm) rather than at 9am, as 9am is the time most schools want for assemblies so theses slots are at the peak rate.

Please note that 1 hour visits are normally possible only in the morning.  Afternoon visits are usually the full afternoon or else 50 minutes so that two schools can share the afternoon with time to switch over in between.

We can also offer a discount if you can fit your visit into a gap in the diary.  So please let us know if you can be flexible about dates.

**Join in a virtual assembly for just £27!

Schools will have also the option to open up an assembly to other schools who wish to join in virtually and can receive a discount of up to £20.

Joining in with an existing assembly will cost just £27.

THE FOLLOWING APPLIES TO IN PERSON VISITS ONLY

***Coordination Visits

If you can fit your visit around others already scheduled nearby on a given day, then this is a coordination visit.  This is the most economical way to organise a short visit as the standard rate is typically discounted and travel costs are also normally waived or significantly reduced.  Note that such slots are a matter of luck and cannot always be found.  Occasionally, for coordination slots that are in high demand, only travel costs will be discounted and for difficult to fill slots, the discount may be increased.

For morning and afternoon coordination slots, the coordination discount is typically £16 plus any travel discount.  For short visits such as assemblies, the coordination discount is significantly larger as the standard cost for short visits is at a premium.

****In person short visits (assemblies and 1 hour slots)

In person assembly and 1 hour visits are normally possible only at the beginning  or end of a morning, to allow time to visit a second school on the same morning.  If an assembly is required at another time of day, then it is best to include that assembly within a longer visit.

Occasionally other assembly or short visit times may be possible, depending on the schedule of a day, but the cost may need to be adjusted to account for special scheduling requirements.

You can always include an assembly in a longer visit and there is of course no additional charge for this as we use the time to fit the needs of your school best.

Most schools choose to conduct short visits virtually, or choose an afternoon or morning visits rather than just an assembly as longer visits are much more cost-effective than short visits.

*****Travel
Standard Rates include up to 60 minutes / 40 miles round-trip travel (measured by averaging google best- and worst-case scenarios for arrival at 8:30am).  For longer journeys, a travel cost will be added to the above rates, costed at £17.12/hr plus £.225/mile.
There is no travel surcharge for virtual visits.

Shared Dates

Travel costs and the coordination discount can be shared between schools if we coordinate visits, so please let us know if you are flexible about dates so that we can keep this cost as low as possible.
